Northern Cape Diamond Netball Cup - Diamond Fields Advertiser

The Northern Cape Diamonds will be out for revenge when they face Kingdom Stars in round three of the Brutal Fruit Netball Cap at the University of Pretoria this weekend

Diamonds lost 56-44 to Stars in their opening match of the competition,  mainly due to nerves, and they will get the chance to make amends when they clash with KZN team on Sunday morning.

"We hope to beat them (Stars) this time round, that will be the team's goal." said Diamonds coach Elsje van der Merwe.

The coach added that the team was improving with each game as this is the first time they are playing in such a league and it is a quote different "vibe" from what they have been used to.

Meanwhile, team captain Mandie Burger said that the team would look to stick to the basics and improve on their centre play.

"We have been working to improve on our centre play and to keep the mistakes to a minimum. We have learnt a great deal from our very first match (against Stars) two weeks ago," said Burger.

Before Diamonds take on Stars on Synday, they will face Limpopo Baobabs, who the beat 60-47 i nthe first round - tomorrow.

According to Van der Merwe, Diamonds' goal is to beat the Baobabs by a larger margin than they did in the first round
